Closet contents
Recurring Dream
These are the lies I told you

It’s been recommended to me that if you don’t know what to write about next, have the worst possible thing happen to your main character and write them out of the situation.

I can't sleep. Again. So I'm at the computer. Again. There's no one online, I've caught up on my email, so I'm playing Yahoo games and thinking of new and creative ways to keep myself occupied. I've managed to find something to watch on TV that's captivating my interest, which will help the time pass more quickly. It's overwhelmingly quiet in the middle of the night. I sip my Dr. Pepper, have a few Pringles. I organize the books on my shelf, making sure they're alphabetized by author and lined up evenly front to back. I rearrange the things on my desk, straighten the pens in the Eeyore coffee mug, and take another sip of Dr. Pepper. Only about an hour has passed. The sun won't be up for another five hours, and I'm still not tired.

That's a really good idea. If your character doesn't want to be written, give them insomnia until they cooperate :-)
